Karmen Kaiser:

Ritual Angle and Early Medieval Necropolis in Brezje near Zreče

Abstract

The contribution discusses a Late Roman and Early Medieval necropolis, situated in the village of Brezje near Zreče in northeastern Slovenia. We determined a triad of cult localities in the near vicinity and demonstrated that the necropolis is incorporated in the system of the so-called ritual angle. The main orientation of the burials, and at the same time one side of the triangle, is the winter solstice (. Christmas) sunrise. There are also two Bronze Age cemeteries situated within the system of the ritual angle.
