On the Fairies in Folk Ballads
Abstract
The paper examines variants of southern Slavic folk ballads and ballad songs about fairies. Analyzing the context of folk belief and notions about fairies, the author reveals their mythical and psychological characteristics, as well as thematical characteristics of these mythological ballads.
