On the Use of Henbane and Fool’s Parsley in Rites – A Linguistic Approach
Abstract
The article discusses plant names of henbane and fool’s parsley. A use of them in the cultus of a certain light or heaven god in various Indo-European peoples is suggested. The main property of both plants is the eff ect of widening the pupils, which results in dazzling.
